Although I have been scuba diving for nearly 40 years, it's only the last decade that I merged it with my number one passion, photography. All that I thought I knew as a terrestrial photographer went right out the window the day I first waterproofed the Canon and headed to inner space. I had to retrain everything almost from scratch. It's a skill I will continue to work on, and I am intent on capturing beautiful underwater images for many years to come.Whereas for much of my earlier years as a diver I was equipped with a spear gun, these days my weapon of choice to shoot with is a camera. I no longer see fish as a potential addition to the dinner table, and instead see all living creatures below the surface as part of an invaluable ecosystem, and that I can get a clean shot away with no impact to the beautiful aquatic ecology that we all must strive to preserve.
