Sacred Portal
Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Utah
I arrived in the pre-dawn twilight, after sharing the trail with some unidentified critters, and I managed to beat out the morning rush by no more than a minute or 2. The sun broke through the clouds on the horizon with a few seconds to spare to get the sunburst I was hoping for, before rising behind the arch. I used a 9-image blended bracketed exposure in order to capture as much dynamic range as possible. The result was everything I had hoped for and more. Photo © copyright by Brad Baker.
